Anywhere but here

In development

The documentary follows people from Afghanistan who, after several years in Sweden, have been deported and are now trying to build new lives in France, Germany, the UK and other parts of Europe. The film explores what happens when a country that once became home no longer offers protection, and how life continues in a state of waiting, uncertainty and constant displacement.

Through intimate and personal stories, the project examines the human consequences of Europe’s migration policies. It is a film about security, identity and belonging, but also about resilience, friendship and the determination to keep moving forward despite constantly changing circumstances. In doing so, the documentary paints a broader portrait of an asylum system that often fails to put people at its centre.
